Jack studied choral conducting with Stephen LaytonGraham Ross and Mark Williams, and received tuition in organ performance from James Lancelot and Dame Gillian Weir.

Before arriving in Cambridge, Jack was educated as an organ scholar and vice-chancellor's scholar at Durham University.
